Campaign for Dean Winchester

 CW Supernatural Screen Capture

 Campaign for Dean Winchester

After much consideration, I've decided to post the following information. I follow the fandom in Supernatural and I felt that the following information needed to be addressed. Like much of the fandom, I too have noticed that Dean Winchester has been scarcely seen in the promos for season seven. The silence about his character has taken a toll on the fandom as well. Very few spoilers have been discussed about the beloved older brother. Is this a ruse for an intricate and grand story arc for Dean Winchester? Or does it mean that the writers have nothing in store for the now iconic character.

If it is the latter, I think the writers are not taking advantage of Dean Winchester's popularity, nor are they taking advantage of the best actor on the show, Jensen Ackles.

I haven't had the good fortune to visit the set to ask the writers or the actors about their views on this. But I have felt the discord in the fandom since the beginning of season six.

I'm going to participate in this campaign, although my postcards will thank Mr. Roth and Mr. Pedowitz for their continuing support for Jensen Ackles as an actor and as a director.

My postcards will also address Dean Winchester's most recent endeavor, reaching number nine on this list:

SFX Top 100 Sci-Fi Icons of the 21st Century

10. Kara "Starbuck" Thrace
9. Dean Winchester
8. Spock
7. Harry Potter
6. Ianto Jones
5. Spike
4. Buffy
3. Captain Jack Harkness
2. Doctor Who
1. Mal Reynolds

Here are some of the suggestions for the campaign which I copied from a post from Jensen Ackles' IMDB page.

OPENING LINE: "Dean who?"

FOLLOW UP CHOICES:

Follow up 1: "The writers keep saying that Dean’s a lead character too! So where is his long
overdue story line?"

Follow up 2: "The show runners may have forgotten Dean, but the fans haven't.

Where is Dean's story line?"

Follow up 3: "Sam’s not the only lead character. Dean deserves an equally

important story line."

Follow up 4: Why do Dean’s storylines keep getting dropped? The Righteous Man, all the special things about Dean (being able to kill an angel and stare at its grace, never being possessed by a demon, influencing others to overcome possession), his connection to the alphas/first borns last season, Death’s detective….why not follow up on some of those?

Or, for a focus on Jensen:

OPENING LINE: "Jensen Ackles is one of the main reasons ‘Supernatural’ is a hit.”

FOLLOW UP CHOICES:

Follow up 1: “ It's time to reward this talented actor with the weighty, challenging storyline he deserves."

Follow up 2: “The iconic and popular character he plays deserves a solid, meaningful storyline.”
